Clevinger Annual Scholarship for Arts Integration in Teacher Education

1. Candidates must show an appreciation of the arts and arts integration in the performing arts (dance, music, theatre) with the scholarship being awarded to a junior, senior, or transfer student enrolled in the College of Education majoring in elementary, secondary, or special education within the Department of Teacher Education and Leadership and who is interested in such pursuits. Appreciation being defined as engaging in creative and performing arts activities in secondary schools, community colleges, university organizations, and/or community organizations (i.e. community theatre, community symphonies, community dance programs and/or companies).
2. Candidates must intend to teach in Mississippi and incorporate arts integration in scientific fields (STEM/STEAM or vice versa) within elementary education, secondary education, or special education.
3. Candidates must have a financial need. This scholarship is not intended for students who have been awarded significant resources through other scholarships such as Presidential Endowed Scholarships, Mississippi Excellence in Teaching Program scholarships, or Patterson Family Foundation Scholarships.
4. Preference will be given to a student enrolled in the MSU Shackouls Honors College OR a student who maintains a minimum 3.4 G.P.A.
