Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship

The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program is a five-year endeavor sponsored by the National Science Foundation’s Division for Undergraduate Education. Its purpose is to fund scholarships for STEM educators who agree to teach for a period of time in a high-need school district upon graduation. Eligible candidates for this scholarship must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, be of at least Junior standing at the time the scholarship begins, have an overall college GPA of 3.0 or higher, and must be majoring in one of the STEM fields. Students majoring in a secondary physical science or math education field can apply, but they must either switch or add a physical science or math major to be eligible to receive an award. Scholarship applicants may be invited for a follow-up interview with the project team prior to selection. If the teaching commitment is not satisfied, the scholarship becomes a loan that must be repaid to the University. Scholarship recipients will also receive additional focused training, optional funding to conduct research with an MSU faculty member while at the university, and receive additional benefits once they have entered their classrooms.
