Bulldog Engineering Transfer Student (BETS) Scholarship

The goal of the Bulldog Engineering Transfer Student (BETS) scholarship program at Mississippi State University (MSU) is to provide financial support and mentoring to improve graduation outcomes for eligible transfer students who major in computer, electrical, mechanical, and industrial engineering.

Students are eligible to receive a BETS Scholarship if they meet the following criteria: (1) are low income, (2) have unmet financial need, (3) are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, (4) have completed a minimum of 48 hours at another institution of higher education prior to transferring to MSU, and (5) are enrolled full time in CPE, EE, IE, or ME. Additional preferred qualifications that will be used in selection decisions include: (1) transfer GPA of 3.00 or higher, (2) grade of B or higher in Calculus 1 and Physics 1.

BETS scholarship awards will be given each semester, with a maximum semester award of $3,750. Pending continued eligibility and availability of funds, BETS scholarships can be renewed on a semester-basis as long as the student makes satisfactory progress towards their degree. Scholars who participate in a co-op semester will not receive the scholarship for that semester.
