The Lieutenant Colonel Michael L. James Leadership and Service Endowed Scholarship

1. Candidates must be full-time returning sophomore, junior or senior students enrolled at MSU. They must have graduated from one of the following State of Mississippi public high schools: Aberdeen High School, Columbus High School, Noxubee High School, West Lowndes High School, or West Point High School.
2. Candidates must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
3. Candidates must be active members of a community service-oriented organization (e.g., fraternity, sortie, nonprofit organization, church/religious organization, etc.)
4. Candidates must submit three (3) letters of recommendation addressing the nominee’s record of leadership and/or community service.
5. Candidates must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid at MSU.
