Steve and Donna Saunders
Steve and Donna Saunders reside in Vicksburg, MS. They have two children and five grandchildren, all who bleed maroon and white. Steve earned a BS in CE from Mississippi State University in 1981. Steve recently retired from Entergy after a 39 year career working in the Nuclear Power field. Donna also worked for Entergy for 16 years and left the workforce in 2000. Steve comes from a long line of MSU graduates including two brothers, a son and a grandson along with his Mom.
Steve’s Mother got her Masters in Elementary Education at MSU in 1964. Steve’s Mom taught school for 40 years in the Delta in Greenwood, Leland, and Greenville. Steve’s Mom taught Special Education in Leland, MS for 15 years and was instrumental in starting some of the first special education curriculums in the Delta. Mrs Saunders passed away in 2017.
Donna’s Dad, William Clay Haney, received his degree in education with a major in learning disabilities from the University of Central Florida after completing a 30 year career in the US Navy. Mr Haney retired with the rank of Lieutenant Commander and passed away in 2011. Donna’s younger sister was born with Downs Syndrome and now lives in Vicksburg near Steve and Donna.
