Paul and Lacy Sparks

Paul and Lacy Sparks reside in Birmingham, Alabama. Paul is a 1984 petroleum engineering graduate of Mississippi State University. He received the Distinguished Engineering Fellow in 2005 and serves on the petroleum engineering advisory board. Paul retired from Energen Corporation as Senior Vice President and now privately invests in oil and gas industry projects.

The Sparks have been active supporters of MSU for the last 15 years and two of their three children graduated as Bulldogs. They established the D. Paul Sparks Endowed Scholarship to encourage and help support students who are pursuing a degree in petroleum engineering. They have also contributed to other funding needs around the University.

The Sparks are truly grateful for the impact MSU has had on Paul’s career in oil and gas and desire to provide that opportunity for others. Some of the fondest family memories have been spent on campus at various events and it is the Sparks intent for that to be passed on to the next generation of Bulldog engineers.
