John and Mary Eileen Passons

John and Mary Eileen reside in Gluckstadt, MS. John attended MSU and Mississippi College. While at MSU he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. John who is now retired spent his career as a teacher and an administrator in the Jackson public school system for 25 years. He then went on to teach history at Hinds Community College and Holmes Community College (at night) for 16 years.

John is a member of the MSU alumni association and has served on the board of the Bulldog Club. John has also served as the president of the Greater Jackson Bulldog Booster club from 2000-2003.

Mary Eileen attended Mississippi University for Women. She spent her career teaching english. She taught english in the Meridian, McComb, and Clinton public school system.

John and Mary Eileen have been married for 33 years and are blessed with 6 children and 11 grandchildren. They created their scholarship as a way to acknowledge their love and support for Mississippi State University. Their scholarship is to provide financial support for education students from Madison County. With creating their scholarship they have fulfilled one of their bucket list items.
