Erik Brown

Erik Brown lives in Spring, TX. Erik earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Mississippi State University in 2001. Erik is employed by ExxonMobil Global Services Company and works in the IT division. Erik is active in his broader Houston community as a volunteer for the Little League Baseball and Softball program.

The Tanzie Camille McCarty Brown scholarship is established in the name of Erik’s mother, who was the first member of his family to achieve a bachelor’s degree. She graduated from Mississippi State in 1984 at the Meridian Campus. She returned to study and gained a master’s and specialist’s degree in special education in the mid 1990s and early 2000s. Her dedication to the calling of education has inspired students and families across four decades of work. By this scholarship, her influence will continue to shape future educators to carry on her legacy of improving lives through quality education.
