Danny and Peggy Arnold established the Daryl Arnold Scholarship in memory of their son.

Daryl graduated from Mississippi State University with a B. S. in Microbiology in December of 1995. He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Golden Key National Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Medical Society, Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and the MSU Alumni Delegates. After graduation Daryl went on a backpacking trip throughout Europe. Two days after returning, he fell victim to a cancer-induced coma and passed away on July 14, 1996.
